Use of weighing instruments, weight and measure, their inspection.
- (1)Electronic weighing instruments which also satis1y the requirements of such weights and measures as are prescribed by the State Weights and Measure Act and the Rules made their under shall be used for weighing or measuring agricultural produce including livestock, as required. in the principal market yard. sub-market yard(s). market sub-yard(s), private market yard(s) and farmer —consumer market yard(s): Provided that in transactions of sale and purchase of agricultural produce including livestock, as the case may be, beam scale or platform scale may be used but electronic balance shall preferably be used. 2) Every committee shall keep in the market yard at least one weighing instrument of the capacity of one quintal and two sets of weights and in places where measures are used to be measured, verified and stamped in accordance with the provisions of the State Weights and Measures Act and the rules framed thereunder.
- (3)Weighing instruments, weights and measures kept by the committee under this section may at any time be inspected, examined and checked by the Managing Director or the Member Secretary The Nagaland Gazette, Part -V 15, May, and after such inspection, the inspecting authority may give such directions as it may deem proper to the Committee which shall comply with such directions.
