- (1)In the event of occurrence of any vacancy by reason of death, resignation, removal or otherwise in the office of Pradhan or of a member of a Gram Panchayat, the vacancy shall be filled by election in the manner prescribed.
- (2)Every Pradhan and every Member elected to fill a casual vacancy, shall hold office for the remaining term of office of the person in whose place he is so elected: Provided that no election for filling the casual vacancy shall be held if the vacancy is for a period of less than six months.
