Terms & Conditions

What this site is
EasyActs.in is a free, publicly accessible library of Indian legislation. It reproduces the text of Acts, largely sourced from India Code (indiacode.gov.in), the Government of India's official repository, and presents it in a searchable, cross-linked form. It also provides derived material such as plain-language summaries, examples, FAQs and quizzes.
Not legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using it creates no lawyer–client relationship. The material here is for general information and study only. For advice on any actual matter, consult a qualified advocate or legal professional.
Sourcing and editorial method
This site publishes two distinct layers, and they carry different weight.
Official legislative text. Statutory text is ingested directly from official repositories — principally India Code (indiacode.gov.in), maintained by the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the legislative departments of individual State governments. The original source PDF is served on the same page as the text it produced, so any provision can be checked against the document it was extracted from without leaving the site. Section structure, numbering and cross-references are derived programmatically from those documents and reconciled against the source pagination.
Educational study layer. Plain-language summaries, worked examples, FAQs, flowcharts, mind maps and Act Explained guides are developed through specialized legal synthesis that analyzes the statutory text and restates it for clarity and comprehension. This layer is a reading aid and reference companion. It is labelled as such wherever it appears, it is never a substitute for the provision it describes, and where the two differ the statutory text and the source PDF govern.
Accuracy, and the limits of it
We work to reproduce legislative text faithfully, but this site is not an official source and we make no warranty that any text is complete, current, or free of error. Acts are amended and repealed; extraction from source documents can introduce mistakes; and a page here may lag behind the law as it stands today.
Verify against the official text before relying on any provision for a legal, financial, or compliance purpose. Where an Act's original PDF is available, it is linked on the page so you can check the source directly. Corrections are welcome and acted on — see Contact below.
Copyright
The text of Indian legislation is a government work and is not claimed as our copyright. The site's own design, code, and originally-authored material are ours. You are free to read, quote, and share the legislative text; please don't scrape the site wholesale in a way that degrades it for other readers.
Availability
The site is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or anything on it — including any decision taken on the basis of text or commentary published here.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept it.
