Section 31 of The Jammu and Kashmir Irrigation Act, 1978 — Acquisition of land for construction of field channels

(1) When there is any dispute between the owners or occupiers or beneficiaries for the construction of a field channel, the Canal Officer shall, acquire the land required for such construction. (2) The provisions relating to acquisition of land for the construction of water courses mentioned in section 15 shall apply for acquisition of land for the construction of field channels with the modification that the compensation payable shall be paid by the owner or occupiers or beneficiaries.
