- (1)There shall be constituted a University by the name
called the ‘Dravidian University’ for Dravidian and other studies which shall
consist of a Chancellor, a Pro-Chancellor, a Vice-Chancellor, a Rector, an
Executive Council, a Planning and Monitoring Board and an Academic Senate.
- (2)The headquarters of the University shall be at such place in the State as may be notified by the Government and it may establish campuses at such other places as it may deem fit within India and in other countries.
- (3)The University shall be a research, a teaching, residential and affiliating University.
- (4)The University shall be a body corporate, having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said Corporate name.
- (5)No institution affiliated to, or associated with or recognised or maintained by any other University in India and in other Countries shall be affiliated to or associated with or recognised by the University for any purpose, except with the prior approval of the Government and the concerned university and the management of the Institution concerned.
