Amendment of section 494. - In the principal Act, in section 494, for sub-section (1), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
- (1)Whoever, in contravention of the provisions of this Act or any rule, bye-law or order made thereunder, fails to comply with any notice, direction or requisition issued under any of the provisions thereof, shall be punishable with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both, and in the case of a continuing contravention, with an additional fine which may extend to two hundred rupees for every day during which such contravention continues after conviction for the first such contravention.
