Amendment of section 493 Amendment of section 493. - In the principal Act, in section 493, for sub-section (1), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
- (1)Whoever, in contravention of the provisions of this Act or any rule or bye-law made thereunder, does any act or fails to perform any duty as required under the provisions of this Act or rules or bye-laws made thereunder, shall be punishable with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one month or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both, and in the case of a continuing contravention, with an additional fine which may extend to two hundred rupees for every day during which such contravention continues after conviction for the first such contravention.
