Section 46(5) of The Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 — Meetings of a Panchayat Samiti

(1) A Panchayat Samiti shall hold a meeting for the transaction of business at least once a month (hereinafter in this section called the ordinary meeting).

(2)Every meeting of the Panchayat Samiti shall ordinarily be held at the head- quarters of the Panchayat Samiti.

(3) The date of the first meeting after election of the Pradhan and Up- Pradhan shall be fixed by the Pradhan and date of each subsequent ordinary meeting shall be fixed at the previous meeting of the Panchayat Samiti, provided that the Pradhan may for sufficient reasons, after the day of the meeting or adjourn it to a subsequent date. The Pradhan may whenever he thinks fit, and shall, upon the written request of not less than on-third of the total number of members and on a date within fifteen days from the receipt of such request call a special meeting. Such request shall specify the object for which the meeting, is proposed to be called. If the Pradhan fails to call a special meeting, the Up- Pradhan or the Competent Authority may call by the special meeting for a day not more than fifteen days thereafter and require the Vikas Adhikari to give notice to the members and to take such action as may be necessary to convene the meeting.

(4)Ten clear days notice of an ordinary meeting and seven clear days notice of a special meeting specifying the time and place at which such meeting is to be held and the business sto be transacted thereat, shall be sent to the members and affixed at the notice board of the Panchayat Samiti. Such notice shall include, in the case of a special meeting any motion or proposition mentioned in the written request made for such meeting.
