This Act amends the Manipur Co-Operative Societies Act, 1976, to give the Manipur state government direct intervention powers over poorly managed cooperative societies. It applies to all registered cooperative societies, their managing boards, and creditors within the state. Under this law, if a society's management violates statutory provisions, faces persistent objections from creditors, and risks causing serious financial harm to the organization or the public, the state government can officially suspend or dissolve its governing board. In such cases, the government can appoint an administrator to take over management responsibilities, safeguarding public funds and protecting community interests from mismanaged cooperatives.
