The Kerala State Handloom Weavers' Co-operative Society (Special Provisions) Act, 1950, was enacted to consolidate the handloom industry in the newly formed state of Kerala. The Act granted the Registrar of Co-operative Societies the authority to enforce this merger if the societies failed to do so voluntarily within a specified timeframe, ensuring a unified administrative structure for the benefit of weavers across the state.
