Section 17-A of The Jammu and Kashmir State Evacuees' (Administration of Property) Act, 2006 — Penalty for wrongfully paying or receiving rents, etc. in respect of evacuee property

1[17-A. Penalty for wrongfully paying or receiving rents, etc. in respect of evacuee property.—Any person who pays to or receives from any other person any sum of money in respect of any property which he knows or has reason to believe to be evacuee property or is likely to be declared to be evacuee property within the meaning of this Act, shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both : Provided that nothing contained in this section shall apply to render punishable any payment made to or received by the Custodian.
