This Act establishes a legal framework for the preservation and development of the Murrah buffalo and other milch animals in Haryana. It creates the Haryana Livestock Development Board to oversee genetic improvement, breeding services, and the modernization of animal husbandry practices. To fund these initiatives, the Act authorizes the collection of fees on exported animals and a cess on the licensed capacity of milk plants. It also regulates the movement of these animals to prevent unauthorized transport.
