Section 6 of The Gujarat Lifts and Escalators Act, 2000 — Duration and renewal of licence

(1) Every licence shall be valid for a period of five years from the date on which it is granted. (2) A licence may be renewed on an application made in that behalf to the Chief Inspector in such form and accompanied by such fee as may be prescribed alongwith the report made under section 16 and every such application shall be made not less than thirty days before the date on which the period of validity of the licence is due to expire.
