- (1)The horticulture and forestry extension education programmes of the University shall make useful information based upon the findings of research available to orchardists, farmers and others, to help and solve their problems. It shall conduct demonstrations and training programmes for the benefit of students, orchardists and farmers. Extension education shall be co-ordinated with the other functions of the University and other appropriate agencies of the State.
- (2)The University shall be responsible for the horticultural and forestry extension education activities in the State necessary to disseminate and demonstrate to orchardists and farmers the findings of horticultural and forestry research on improved practices essential to improve rural living and to increase production with special emphasis on fruits, vegetables and farm forestry.
