APPOINTMENTS AND JURISDICTION

- Section 5 — Subject to the superintendence, direction and control of the State Government, the Board shall be the chief controlling authority in the matters provided under the Act, excepting matters relating to disposal of cases, [appeals]3 and revisions.]2
- Section 6 — The State Government shall Appoint the members of the Board.

- Section 12 — The State Government shall appoint in each division a Commissioner, who shall within his division exercise the powers and discharge the duties conferred and imposed on a Commissioner under this Act, or under any other law for the time being in force, and who shall exercise authority over all the revenue officers in his division.
- Section 14 — Collector of the District.

- Section 16 — shall be subordinate to the Collector.
- Section 17 — Tahsildars and NaibTahsildars.
- Section 18 — SubDivisional Officers and Additional Sub-Divisional Officers.
- Section 19 — Every Revenue Officer of a sub-division of a district shall be subordinate to the Assistant Collector (if any) in-charge of such sub-division, subject to the general control of the Collector.
- Section 20 — If the Collector dies or is disabled from performing his duties, the officer who succeeds temporarily to the chief executive administration of the district in revenue matters shall be held to be the Collector under this Act until the State Government appoints a successor to the Collector so dying or disabled, and such successor takes charge of his appointment.
