Section Schedule of The Tamil Nadu Repealing and Amending Act, 1955 — Amendments

1919 : IV - The Madras City Municipal Act, 1919: (b) in clause (c), for the word "sections", the word "section" shall be substituted ; and (c) in clause (d), for the word "sections", the word "section" shall be substituted, (viii) in section 388, for the words and figures "provided in sections 171, 335, 379 or 413", the words and figures "provided in section 171, 335, 379 or 413" shall be substituted.

1920 : V - The Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920: (i) In the heading under Chapter V, for the words "Property, Contracts, Establishment" the words "Property, Contracts and Establishment" shall be substituted. (ii) In Chapter VI, after section 109, the heading "Surcharge on the income-tax" shall be omitted. (iii) In the proviso to sub-section (2) of section 245, before the words and figures "Places of Public Resort Act, 1888", the word "Madras" shall be inserted. (iv) In sub-section (4) of section 262, for the words "a vernacular language", the words "a regional language" shall be substituted. (v) in section 322, in sub-section (1), in clause (a) (i), for the words "under sections", the words "under section" and for the figures "246 247", the figures and word "246 or 247", shall be substituted.

1920 : VII - The Tamil Nadu Town-Planning Act, 1920: In section 40-- (2) for the words "authorities of the union or local board", the words "authorities of the panchayat or district board" shall be substituted.

1920 : VIII - The Tamil Nadu Elementary Education Act, 1920: In clause (c) of section 44, the word "or" shall be added at the end.

1920 : XIV - The Tamil Nadu District Boards Act, 1920: (i) language", the words "Chief regional language" shall be substituted. (ii) In section 198, before the words and figures "Places of Public Resort Act, 1888", the word "Madras" shall be inserted. (iii) In Schedule II, in rule 51, for the words "Deputy Inspector", the words "Regional Inspector" shall be substituted.

1931 : V - The Gudalur Compensation for Tenants Improvements Act, 1931: In section 2, clauses (1) to (3) shall be omitted.

1933 : XX - The Madras Commercial Crops Markets Act, 1933: In section 5, sub-section (4), in the proviso to clause (a), for the words "Revenue Board" and "Government", the words "Board of Revenue" and "State Government" shall respectively be substituted.

1952 : XV - The Tamil Nadu Cotton Control Act, 1952: In sub-section (1) of section 5, the following shall be added at the end, namely:-- "and in the case mentioned in clause (c), with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees and for a second or subsequent offence with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees".

1952 : XVI - The Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles (Taxation of Passengers and Goods) Act, 1952: In section 3-- (i) the first proviso shall be omitted ; and (ii) in the second proviso, the word "further" shall be omitted.

1954 : XIX - The Madras Land Revenue (Surcharge) Act, 1954: In sub-section (3) of section 1, for the words "shall come into force", the words "shall be deemed to have come into force" shall be substituted.

1955 : I - The Tamil Nadu Indebted Agriculturists (Repayment of Debts) Act, 1955: (1) In section 1, for sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely :-- "(3) It shall come into force at once". (2) In section 2 (c) (iii), after the words "annual rental value of", the words "not less than" shall be inserted. (3) In section 4-- (a) in sub-section (1), for the words "under provisions of", the words "under the provisions of" shall be substituted. (b) in sub-section (7), for the expression "clause (b) of section 48", the expression "clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 48" shall be substituted.

1955 : XLV - The Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955: (2) In schedule II, in Article 11, (h) (j) (l), the words "of which" shall be omitted.
