Section 381 of THE KARNATAKA MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1976.

person shall, without or otherwise than inconformity with a licence from the Commissioner, carry on the trade of a butcher, fishmonger or poulterer or use any place for the sale of fresh fish or poultry intended for human food,-

1. (a)in any place within the limits of the city;
2. (b)in any place within five kilometers of such limits and not included in any municipality constituted under the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 22 of 1964): Provided that no licence shall be required for a place used for the selling or storing for sale of presented flesh of fish contained in air-tight and hermetically sealed receptacles.

1. (2)The Commissioner may by order and subject to such restrictions as to supervision and inspection as he thinks fit grant or refuse to grant such licence.
2. (3)Every such licence shall expire at the ¹[end of the period of five years] for which it is granted or at such earlier date as the Commissioner may, for special reasons, specify in the licence.
