Section 18 of The ASSAM FOREST REGULATION 1891 (7 of 1891)

section 6 and of the existence of which no knowledge has been

acquired by inquiry under section 8 shall thereupon be extinguished, unless, before the publication of such notification, the person

claiming them has satisfied the Forest Settlement Officer that he

had sufficient cause for not preferring such claim within the period fixed under section 6.
