The following Act of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly which received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram is hereby published for general information. The Mizoram (Pension for Members of the Defunct of the Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) (Amendment) Act, 2011 (Act No. 13 of 2011). {Received the assent of the Governor of Mizoram on the 8 th July, 2011} AN ACT to amend the Mizoram (Pension for Members of the Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) Act, 1994 (Act No. 7 of 1994) It is enacted by the Mizoram Legislative Assembly in the Sixty Second Year of the Republic of India as follows :- :1.(1) This Act may be called the Mizoram (Pension for Members of the Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) (Amendment) Act, 2011.

(2)It shall come into force from the date of publication in the Mizoram Gazette. :2.Section 3 (1) of the Mizoram (Pension for Members of the De- funct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council). Act, 1994 i.e. Grant of Pension to Members shall be substituted by the following :

:With effect from the date of commencement of this Act and subject to other provisions of the Act, there shall be paid a life-long pension of Rs. 4,500/- (Rupees four thousand five hundred) per month with an annual increment of Rs. 300/- upto a maximum amount of Rs. 8,400/- (Rupess eight thousand and four hundred) to every member who had served as such member for any period whether for five years or less or more”. :3.Section 3 A of the Mizoram (Pension for Members of the Defunct Mizo District Council and of the Defunct Pawi-Lakher Regional Council) Act, 1994 i.e. “Family Pension” shall be substituted by the following : :The family of a deceased member shall be entitled to receive a family pension at the rate of Rs. 2500/- (Ru- pees two thousand five hundred) per month with an annual increment of Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred) upto a maximum amount of Rs. 3500/- (Rupees three thousand five hundred) per month w.e.f. the date of commencement of the Amendment Act of 2011 and subject to the provision contained hereinafter”.
